10 years of Rhythms, Resistance, and Community!

In celebration of La Mezcla’s 10 year anniversary, La Mezcla’s 10 year Anniversary Concert and Community Celebration will be held at Brava Theater, highlighting the dance, music and cultural traditions that La Mezcla was built on, and celebrating the community and artists that have been with the company since the beginning.

The full length concerts will feature company repertoire from the last decade, excerpts of our award winning productions Pachuquísmo & Ghostly Labor, the SF debut of our new dance film “Convivencia,” which documents the voices and experiences of migrant domestic laborers in SF, a sneak peek of our new project El Ahualulco, and La Mezcla’s first ever community cast of tap dancers and Son Jarocho artists.

Connecting with the community through an expanded season of free and donation based dance workshops, a free public reception, and a free Son Jarocho fandango, La Mezcla’s 10 year anniversary concert is a safe space for our community members to gather, share their stories and convivir through our dance, music and our shared experiences.
