Gerson, who hails from La Ceiba, Honduras, discovered his passion for tap dance upon moving to New York City in 2001. He quickly immersed himself in the art form, enrolling at Wadleigh Performing Arts High School and the Harlem School of the Arts, where he honed his movement skills. Following a successful career in New York City, Gerson has taught and performed both nationally and internationally. His choreographic contributions at Artist at the Center, led by Ayodele Casel, along with his work with the acclaimed company Music From the Sole, garnered significant recognition, including a feature in The New York Times in 2024 for his achievements as a performer and choreographer. Currently, Gerson serves as a lecturer in the Theater and Dance Department at San Francisco State University.
